Why Grapes Thrive Here
The Aussenkehr valley gives us conditions that are difficult to find anywhere else.
An Isolated Desert
The valley sits in the Namib desert, well away from other growing regions. That isolation, combined with intense sunshine, produces fruit with strong colour and sugar development.
Rain Is Rare at Harvest
Rain during the harvest window is very unusual here. That means less disease pressure and far fewer interruptions when the fruit is ready to come off the vine.
Early November Start
We begin harvesting in early November and run until early January. That lands in the December window, when supply from other origins is thinnest.
The Orange River
Our vineyards are irrigated from the Orange River, one of very few permanent rivers in Namibia, running right along the edge of the farm.
Packed in the Field
Our grapes are packed directly in the field and moved into our own cold rooms on the farm immediately afterwards. Cutting out the extra handling step between vineyard and cold storage protects the bloom on the berry and keeps the fruit firmer for longer.
We pack to whatever format the market requires, including private-label packaging with your own branding. Containers for customers are packed and sealed on the farm, so the fruit is not rehandled between our cold rooms and your port.
Share your specifications with our team and we will confirm what we can deliver.
